General Star (將星), or Jiang Xing, is derived from the cardinal Branch of the anchor’s Three-Harmony group. It highlights command presence, organisation and mobilisation—but never guarantees rank, status or leadership skill.
The centre of a trine becomes its organising point.
Each Three-Harmony group contains a cardinal Branch—子 Zi, 午 Wu, 卯 Mao or 酉 You—where its seasonal force is concentrated. General Star returns that central Branch.
Constructively, the marker can describe decisiveness, command presence, operational coordination and comfort with responsibility. Its shadow can become control, rigidity, status-seeking or direction without listening.
Traditional references commonly allow the Year or Day Branch as the anchor. State which anchor you use, check whether the target appears elsewhere, and let the full chart determine how the theme operates.
