If born before February 4, most lineages treat you as born in the previous year for this calculation.
How the result works
Three distinctions prevent common mistakes.
Li Chun, not January 1
Eight Mansions keys the birth year to the solar transition near February 4. Early-February births may belong to the preceding calculation year.
East or West life group
Your Kua number belongs to one group, which determines the directional pattern displayed in your result.
Personal Kua is not House Gua
This tool identifies your personal facing directions. A home or office has its own Eight Mansions classification and must be assessed separately.
The eight directional qualities
Four to activate. Four to manage.
A favorable direction is an active advantage for a particular purpose. An unfavorable direction signals friction—not a universal ban on entering that part of the compass.

Use to gainHealth & support

Avoid or neutralizePractical directional use
Face the direction during the action.
Personal Kua is most useful as an orientation tool. The direction you face or align with during an activity matters more than merely standing in a compass sector.
Sit & work
Orient your desk-facing direction toward the quality that matches the task—growth, support, relationships, or concentration.
Sleep & recover
Use head orientation as one input for rest, stability, and health support, subject to the practical room layout.
Call & negotiate
Face a purpose-matched favorable direction during an important pitch, interview, conversation, or decision.
Choose priorities
Do not chase every favorable direction at once. Select the one whose quality best serves the current objective.
Layering rule: personal Kua describes your directional relationship. It does not replace the property’s House Gua, Flying Star chart, physical form, safety, ergonomics, or practical access.

Your Kua number stays stable, but the direction you choose should reflect the activity in front of you. Start with the calculator, then use the matching quality deliberately.
