Three simple steps

Convert without losing the details.

01

Choose a direction

Use Gregorian → Lunar for civil dates and Lunar → Gregorian for traditional calendar records.

02

Enter the full date

Select the year, month, and day. For a lunar source, preserve the leap-month flag exactly as recorded.

03

Record both versions

Keep the original date beside the converted result so later research or chart work remains auditable.

What the result tells you

Calendar equivalence

  • The corresponding date in the other calendar
  • The weekday for the converted civil date
  • Whether a lunar month is a regular or leap month
  • A consistent result within the supported range

What it does not decide

Interpretive boundaries

  • Your BaZi year, month, day, or hour pillars
  • The exact Li Chun boundary for a birth year
  • Whether a date is auspicious for a specific action
  • Regional calendar conventions outside this tool
Important: a converted lunar date is not automatically a BaZi year assignment. BaZi commonly changes year at Li Chun, while cultural zodiac observance commonly changes at Chinese New Year.

Use the right boundary

The same date can answer different calendar questions.

Conversion identifies equivalent dates. Interpretation depends on whether you are researching a festival, family record, zodiac year, BaZi chart, or regional observance.

Chinese New Year

Use it for cultural lunar-year observance and festival context.

Li Chun

Use the exact Beginning of Spring boundary when determining the BaZi year pillar.

Leap Month

Treat the leap marker as part of the lunar date; omitting it can point to a different civil date.

Quick answers

Mini Lunar Converter FAQ

Which years does the converter support?

The supported range is 1900 through 2099.

Does the converter handle leap lunar months?

Yes. For Lunar → Gregorian conversion, use the Leap Month option only when your source date explicitly identifies the month as intercalary.

Can I use the result as my BaZi year?

Not by itself. Calendar conversion and BaZi pillar calculation are different tasks. Births close to early February require the exact Li Chun boundary and accurate birth time.

Why is a timezone shown?

The live tool uses Asia/Kuala_Lumpur. Timezone matters when a calculation or boundary is tied to an exact moment rather than a date alone.

Convert with confidence

Keep the original. Preserve the leap flag. Apply the correct boundary.

A reliable conversion is a clear, traceable starting point—not a substitute for the calendar logic that comes next.
