Golden Carriage.Resources that make movement easier.
Golden Carriage (金輿), or Jin Yu, is a Day-Stem-to-Branch marker associated with support, transport, material surroundings, practical access and conditions that reduce the friction of movement.
Comfort matters when it increases usable capacity.
Jin Yu evokes a valued carriage: the means to travel, carry responsibility and move with support rather than unnecessary strain. Modern expressions include transport, equipment, housing, logistics, partner support and access to useful material resources.
It is wealth-adjacent, but it is not the Wealth element and does not prove riches. The useful question is whether a real asset, relationship or logistical advantage increases the person’s capacity to act.
This page uses the common Day-Stem convention. Find the Day Master’s Lu Branch, move two Earthly Branches forward, and check whether the resulting target appears in the four pillars.
Golden Carriage sits two branch steps beyond Lu.
Identify the Day Master, then scan all four Earthly Branches for the resulting Jin Yu target.
| Day Stem | Golden Carriage Branch | Day Stem | Golden Carriage Branch |
|---|---|---|---|
| 甲 Jia · Yang Wood | 辰 Chen · Dragon | 己 Ji · Yin Earth | 申 Shen · Monkey |
| 乙 Yi · Yin Wood | 巳 Si · Snake | 庚 Geng · Yang Metal | 戌 Xu · Dog |
| 丙 Bing · Yang Fire | 未 Wei · Goat | 辛 Xin · Yin Metal | 亥 Hai · Pig |
| 丁 Ding · Yin Fire | 申 Shen · Monkey | 壬 Ren · Yang Water | 丑 Chou · Ox |
| 戊 Wu · Yang Earth | 未 Wei · Goat | 癸 Gui · Yin Water | 寅 Yin · Tiger |
Golden Carriage rule: 甲→辰 · 乙→巳 · 丙戊→未 · 丁己→申 · 庚→戌 · 辛→亥 · 壬→丑 · 癸→寅.
Locate the carriage, then identify the real support.
Find the Day Stem
Use the Heavenly Stem of the Day Pillar—the Day Master.
Find the target
Move two branches forward from the Day Stem’s Lu position.
Read its pillar
Find that Branch in natal or clearly declared timing layers.
Test the asset
Identify the vehicle, tool, housing, partner support or logistical advantage.
The pillar suggests where practical support becomes available.
Public access
Family resources, networks, social mobility and support from the wider environment.
Work infrastructure
Professional tools, transport, operational support and resources connected with career.
Close support
Home, partner support, shared assets and everyday material stability.
Future assets
Projects, children, later-life resources and infrastructure built over time.
Support, wealth and movement use different engines.
Golden Carriage · 金輿
A marker of mobility, material support and practical access.
- Convention here: two branches beyond Lu
- Target: Earthly Branch
- Emphasis: support infrastructure
Prosperity Star · 福星
Fortunate conditions, goodwill and practical sufficiency.
- Different Stem-to-Branch table
- Emphasis: favourable conditions
- Not interchangeable with Jin Yu
Sky Horse · 驛馬
A movement marker connected with travel, relocation and change.
- Separate catalogue entry
- Different calculation
- Not a vehicle or asset formula
Wealth and assets
The Wealth element and real financial records provide the primary account of material capacity.
- Income, obligations and liquidity matter
- Ownership and access are not identical
- Read structure before Shen Sha
A Jia Day Master finds Golden Carriage at Chen.
Jia Wood has Lu at 寅 Yin; two steps forward lands at 辰 Chen.
From Day Stem to usable support
A carriage is support—not proof of wealth.
No wealth guarantee
Jin Yu does not prove income, property ownership or financial security.
No luxury promise
Comfort and status imagery must be verified through real material conditions.
No passive benefit
Resources only matter when maintained and used responsibly.
No single-star reading
Resource, Output, Officer and overall chart structure remain primary.
Name the anchor
State whether the Day Stem or an older Year-Stem convention is being used.
No asset substitution
Financial analysis still requires income, obligations, liquidity and risk.

Does Golden Carriage mean I will be wealthy?
No. It suggests support, mobility or comfortable conditions, but it does not prove income, assets or financial security.
Which stem does this page use?
The Day Stem. Find its Lu Branch, move two branch positions forward, then seek that target in the chart.
Can I use the Year Stem instead?
Some older traditions use the Year Stem. This page uses the common Day-Stem convention; name the anchor rather than mixing results.
Is Golden Carriage the same as Sky Horse?
No. Sky Horse emphasises movement and change; Golden Carriage emphasises the support or means that makes movement easier.
What if the target branch is absent?
The natal presence test is not met under this convention. The Branch may still arrive temporarily through a Luck Pillar or annual layer.
