Sky Relief and Earth Relief.Relief creates room to respond.
Sky Relief and Earth Relief (天解 · 地解), or Tian Jie and Di Jie, are paired auxiliary markers associated with problem-solving, mitigation, timely assistance and the ability to reduce friction through information, people and practical action.
A problem can soften when the right response arrives in time.
Sky Relief concerns the clarifying or higher-level intervention that changes the available options. Earth Relief concerns the practical people, resources and corrective steps that make resolution operational.
Together they describe routes out of stuckness. Neither star makes a problem disappear by itself; relief must be translated into diagnosis, decisions, resources and follow-through.
This page uses the Nova Masters Consulting Year-Branch convention. Number the Year Branches in their standard order—1 Rat through 12 Pig—then read both relief targets from the table below.
One Year Branch returns a separate Sky Relief and Earth Relief target.
Find the natal Year Branch in the first column, then read across to the two target Branches.
