Broken Star (破碎), or Po Sui, is a Year-Branch-derived caution marker associated with breaks in continuity, communication, plans, agreements, relationships or material objects. It does not guarantee a breakup, contract failure or physical damage.
Fragmentation begins when small breaks remain disconnected from ownership and repair.
破 means to break or damage; 碎 means fragmented, scattered or broken into pieces. In this annual auxiliary-star convention, the image is useful for communication breakdown, interrupted plans, weakened agreements and systems that no longer hold together cleanly.
Constructively, it supports modular design, documented handoffs, maintenance and early repair. Its shadow is catastrophizing, repeated patchwork without root-cause correction, or holding a failing arrangement together after its function has disappeared.
