Flying Blade.External pressure tests the quality of your response.

Flying Blade (飛刃), or Fei Ren, is the Branch directly opposing a Day Master’s Yang Blade position. It can frame collision, resistance, abrupt pressure and the consequences of force meeting force. It does not predict accidents, violence, injury, surgery or death.

Chinese · 飛刃Pinyin · Fēi RènKey · Day StemRule · Opposes Yang Blade
Flying Blade does not create a clash by itself. It identifies the opposing position; both Branches must be present for an actual natal clash.
What the marker signifies

Read opposing force without inventing an event.

飛 means flying or arriving swiftly; 刃 means blade. The image suggests pressure approaching from outside the concentrated self-force represented by Yang Blade.

Constructively, Flying Blade can support vigilance, rapid response, boundary clarity and the ability to act when circumstances become sharp. Its shadow may appear as escalation, defensiveness, reactive decisions or treating every resistance as an attack.

The marker is derived from an opposition, but it does not insert the missing Yang Blade Branch into a chart. A derived target and an actual Branch clash are not the same thing.

Common Zi Ping lookup

Find the Yang Day Stem, then take the Branch opposite its Blade.

This page stays consistent with Nova’s stricter five-Yang-stem Goat Blade convention. Scan all four natal Branches for the Flying Blade target.

Practical applications

Meet pressure without becoming its instrument.

Conflict

Slow the first reaction

Create enough space to distinguish threat, disagreement and inconvenience.

Boundaries

Respond precisely

Use proportionate limits instead of diffuse hostility or sudden withdrawal.

Execution

Build pressure protocols

Decide in advance who pauses, verifies and authorises consequential action.

Safety

Respect real conditions

Use competent procedures and qualified advice rather than symbolic fear.

What is the useful response?

Build pause points, proportional boundaries, verification and reliable safety procedures.

See the pressure. Verify the configuration. Choose the response.
