Flying Blade.External pressure tests the quality of your response.
Flying Blade (飛刃), or Fei Ren, is the Branch directly opposing a Day Master’s Yang Blade position. It can frame collision, resistance, abrupt pressure and the consequences of force meeting force. It does not predict accidents, violence, injury, surgery or death.
Read opposing force without inventing an event.
飛 means flying or arriving swiftly; 刃 means blade. The image suggests pressure approaching from outside the concentrated self-force represented by Yang Blade.
Constructively, Flying Blade can support vigilance, rapid response, boundary clarity and the ability to act when circumstances become sharp. Its shadow may appear as escalation, defensiveness, reactive decisions or treating every resistance as an attack.
The marker is derived from an opposition, but it does not insert the missing Yang Blade Branch into a chart. A derived target and an actual Branch clash are not the same thing.
Find the Yang Day Stem, then take the Branch opposite its Blade.
This page stays consistent with Nova’s stricter five-Yang-stem Goat Blade convention. Scan all four natal Branches for the Flying Blade target.
| Yang Day Stem | Yang Blade | Flying Blade |
|---|---|---|
| 甲 Jia · Yang Wood | 卯 Mao · Rabbit | 酉 You · Rooster |
| 丙 Bing · Yang Fire | 午 Wu · Horse | 子 Zi · Rat |
| 戊 Wu · Yang Earth | 午 Wu · Horse | 子 Zi · Rat |
| 庚 Geng · Yang Metal | 酉 You · Rooster | 卯 Mao · Rabbit |
| 壬 Ren · Yang Water | 子 Zi · Rat | 午 Wu · Horse |
Common rule: 甲→酉, 丙→子, 戊→子, 庚→卯, 壬→午. Yin Day Stems receive no Flying Blade under this convention.
Derive the opposing Branch, then verify the actual configuration.

How do I find Flying Blade?
Find the Yang Day Stem’s Blade Branch, take its direct opposite, then scan all four natal Branches.
Do Yin Day Masters have Flying Blade?
Not under the convention used here. Expanded ten-stem tables belong to another lineage rule.
Does Flying Blade mean the chart contains a clash?
No. An actual clash requires both opposing Branches to be present.
Does it predict an accident?
No. Symbolic opposition cannot provide an event-level or medical prediction.
What is the useful response?
Build pause points, proportional boundaries, verification and reliable safety procedures.
