Fortune Virtue (福德) is position 10 in the annual twelve-star rotation. It is associated with accumulated goodwill, timely assistance, practical ease and conditions that can soften the route through difficulty.
Support is useful only when it becomes practical.
Fu De combines the ideas of blessing or good fortune (福) and cultivated virtue or merit (德). In annual derived-star practice, it points toward support that may arise through reputation, considerate conduct, accumulated goodwill, helpful people or a fortunate easing of circumstances.
The benefit need not be dramatic. It may appear as cooperation, access, a manageable expense, useful advice, an administrative concession or the right person helping at the right moment. The star describes supportive potential—not an entitlement to rescue or profit.

Is Fortune Virtue the same as Prosperity Star?
No. Fortune Virtue uses the Year Branch and an annual rotation; Prosperity Star uses the Year Stem and a separate lookup.
Does it guarantee help or money?
No. It suggests supportive potential, which can manifest as goodwill, access, easier terms or assistance rather than cash.
Can I calculate it from my birth-year branch?
A birth-year anchor may be used for a declared natal reference, while the current Year Branch generates the annual distribution. Do not mix the two layers without naming them.
What if the target branch is absent from my natal chart?
The annual star still occupies that branch in the year’s distribution. A natal presence test is a separate question and should not erase the annual layer.
